An Explanation

Everyone has gifts which include skills and the tendencies to utilize them. College degrees do not provide an inherent need to use certain skills, they provide the knowledge necessary to acquire them.

For those enrolled in colleges for the purpose of getting certified as a doctor, attorney, and other hands-on professions, part of their teaching requires them to have, and demonstrate, the required skills to gain that certification.

Workers involved in the various trades and businesses which demand the necessary training for that particular trade or job serve months, if not years, working as an "apprentice" under the watchful eye of a Master (Boss or Supervisor) in that trade.

Generally, a worker, whether in an informal setting, or a more formal Apprenticeship is (unlike many collegians who travel to wherever the salary and benefits are the greatest) likely to want to work, and give back, in the areas where they grew up or live.

Additionally, they are generally willing to tackle whatever tasks are required of them. They exhibit UTILITY, and are not limited to one skill area.

Unlike the average college graduate, the Apprentice/Journeyman) feels a DUTY to his job AND his community.

Finally.....BUT NOT LIMITED TO, the Apprentice/Journeyman wants to be of service to his community.

He YEARNS to be involved in his job and his community, because he loves his community, wants to serve it, and takes pride in what he does.....and how he does it.

The Apprentice/Journeyman has developed his skills, knowledge, and abilities through hands-on experience with the good & bad, praise & criticism, and post-evaluation of the use of his skills, attitude, dedication, and loyalty on each task.
